Leading Wireless Connectivity Initiatives managed by Global Inventures – OSGi, WiMedia and ZigBee Alliances – to have prominent presence at event

San Ramon, CA, November 9, 2004 -- Global Inventures, Inc. announced today that it has been named “Official Technology Community Incubator” for Wireless Connectivity (WiCon) Americas in Santa Clara. Produced by IBC Telecoms & Media Group, the two-day event, November 9-10, 2004, addresses co-existence and convergence issues for a variety of emerging and mature wireless technologies. As a leading incubator of high-tech industry initiatives, Global Inventures, provides strategic direction into the newly expanded conference program, helping WiCon World (formerly Bluetooth World) extend its focus to include all wireless technologies including OSGi Alliance, WiMedia Alliance, and ZigBee Alliance.

“Wireless Connectivity Americas is a great showcase of wireless WAN, LAN and PAN connectivity solutions and Global Inventures is excited about our relationship with IBC and the international WiCon World shows” said Raj Mata, Vice President of Marketing and Operations. “Global Inventures is extremely bullish on the opportunities in the wireless and mobility markets. We are happy to bring several of our managed initiatives to the show this year – including high profile involvement from WiMedia and ZigBee Alliances. We believe that our proven methodologies can help companies continue to drive new initiatives and create new markets in the wireless WAN, LAN and PAN markets through strategic collaboration.”

Global Inventures managed technology alliances and initiatives have developed categories with more than $10 Billion in addressable product and market opportunities. OSGi Alliance, WiMedia Alliance and ZigBee Alliance are each leaders in their segments of the wireless and mobility markets and drive significant market opportunities for their member companies.

“The WiCon Americas conference is an ideal venue for the ZigBee Alliance. The tremendous level of interest from global leaders across a broad range of markets underscores the success the ZigBee alliance in driving easily deployable, low-cost, low-power, wireless communication products,” said Bill Chase, Executive Director of the ZigBee Alliance. “Since its inception in mid- 2002, ZigBee now has over 100 members, spanning 22 countries across four continents.” Interested parties should visit ZigBee in booth #314 to find out more or to join the Alliance, and also visit the ZigBee Alliance member pavilion in booth #320. Additionally, key spokespeople for ZigBee will be presenting an entire track on Day 2 of the show.

The WiMedia Alliance will host an informational Open House on Wednesday evening, November 10 at 5:30PM at the conclusion of the WiCon event. Additionally, several WiMedia Alliance Board members will present at sessions during the Ultrawideband track on Day 2 of the show, supporting by numerous exhibits by WiMedia Alliance member companies. According to Paul Reinhardt, Executive Director for the group, “The WiMedia Alliance has emerged as a key enabling technology initiative in the ultrawideband ecosystem, with support from the Wireless USB Promoters Group, MBOA SIG and the 1394Trade Association. WiCon Americas offered a great venue to offer an Open House and co-locate our fall Member Meeting.”
