What We Do
Overview
We help develop, launch, manage and grow collaborative business ecosystems — also known as alliances, special interest groups (SIG), industry alliances, fora or consortia.
Our clients span multiple sectors including
- High tech — from silicon to end products, consumer electronics to enterprise hardware; wireless to mobile, standalone to converged communications, web services to enterprise software
- Clean/green energy
- Healthcare
We typically get involved when one or more companies has identified an opportunity, market pain point or growth obstacle and are evaluating whether a single company or multiple stakeholder model will help move the market forward. And, the solution can vary.
Sometimes a new industry specification is needed. It could be a common development platform and developer community, and/or a methodology to test and certify products to a common framework. At other times it’s simply taking what’s already there and motivating deployment through buyer and user education or by building market development programs. Regardless of the method, the desired goal is always larger commercial opportunity for all stakeholders in the ecosystem.
We help unite and engage stakeholders
We provide people, proven best practices and services to assist the individuals involved. These individuals are typically volunteers from member organizations, and we help them focus their time on decision making. We do this by developing a game plan for them based on the requirements they've identified and by using our consortia expertise. The stakeholders are often an interesting mix of vendors, service providers, developers, research institutions, academia, customers, and even government agencies.
The ecosystems we manage today represent more than 10,000 companies throughout the world. Since our inception we have helped deliver first and successor versions of more than 35 ecosystems to the market and we have helped create markets with more than $20 Billion in addressable potential.
We stage our services into four broad steps, moving through each phase based on milestones
